Geared at making teamwork better, Microsoft Viva is split into four modules: Connections, Insights, Learning, and Topics. Microsoft Viva Insights helps people and business thrive with data-driven, privacy-protected insights and recommendations to improve productivity and wellbeing.
What is Viva Insights
With people adapting to new ways of working, the importance of organisations looking after their staff is paramount. After all, a happy team is a productive team. This is where Viva Insights comes in. Available to download as an app in Teams, Viva Insights will be tied to MyAnalytics and Workplace analytics in Microsoft 365. It will give individuals, managers, and leaders personalised and actionable insights that help them and their teams to be at their best at work. To protect privacy, personal insights are visible only to the individual.
In the coming months, Microsoft have shared their plans for additional ‘personal wellbeing experiences’ in Insights, including a virtual commute feature, and an integration with health and happiness app Headspace for meditation and mindfulness.
Who is Viva Insights for?
- Managers/Leaders – For managers and leaders, the Insights dashboard will identify where teams may be struggling, provide visibility on work patterns, and share statistics on employee burnout; all of these can help lead to fostering a culture of wellbeing at work.
- Employees – Your team can access personal insights and identify opportunities to change how they work. You can prioritise wellbeing and boost productivity with actionable recommendations, such as protecting time in the day for regular breaks, focused work, and learning.

The Insights app in Teams is free, but additional features like MyAnalytics and Workplace analytics may require an additional license.
Viva Insights notable dates
