According to a new report from O’Reilly Media, persistent skills shortages are continuing to frustrate European organisations in their attempts to keep pace with global cloud developments.
As a result, the adoption of cloud-based data infrastructures and cutting-edge solutions, such as analytics and artificial intelligence (AI), has been much slower in Europe compared to the rest of the world.
While European organisations are hoping to play catch-up this year, investing heavily in data solutions, progress will be held back by persistent skills shortages in several key areas including data science, data engineering (37%) and security.
