Deloitte in conjunction with Rockford IG developed a new payrolling solution with the purpose of delivering compliant and ethical payrolling services to the UK ‘worker’ population. Microsoft 365 was selected as the platform for the new business and Bridgeall were contacted to present a solution. Power BI implementation journey.

About Rockford IG 

Rockford IG offers an end-to-end PAYE payroll solution for contractors looking to transition away from using personal service companies or simply seeking a transparent payroll provider. 

Challenges facing Rockford IG

As a new business starting from scratch, Rockford IG had five success factors they wanted to meet to ensure they were set up for success.  

  • Windows/Microsoft 365 configuration – the team wanted the full Microsoft 365 Premium solution built including licenses. The configuration of all Microsoft tools recommended was also required for the project.
  • Security – Configuration of Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Intune and BitLocker to the environment along with best practices to ensure data safety.
  • Support model – The provision of a Managed IT Support service.
  • Resilience – A business continuity plan as well as data retention/deletion policies.
  • Hardware – Provision of all hardware, including laptops, additional screens and headsets.

With Rockford IG’s requirements we implemented the following solutions to ensure the business was set up for success.   

  • Windows/Microsoft 365 Configuration – A full Microsoft 365 Business Premium solution build, including licenses. Configuration of; Intune and autopilot, Windows Defender, SharePoint, email and web safety proxy’s . Design and configuration of appropriate AD structure & Group Policies. Consultation to determine appropriate user config & build. Configuration of Entra ID SSO into Amazon Connect and Zoho CRM because these were the third-party services they wanted to use. They wanted a single sign on for everything. One MS account for all.
  • Security – We provided a multi- layered security approach that incorporates multiple defence mechanisms to protect Rockford IG from cyber threats, including SentinelOne Endpoint Protection, Mimecast Email Security, DNS Filter and Qualys Vulnerability Scanning. This is also in conjunction with the security policies Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Entra ID provide. 
  • Resilience – We created a credible business continuity plan along with data retention and deletion policies. This is something we proposed.
  • Hardware – Provision of all hardware including laptops, additional screens and headsets utilising Microsoft Autopilot. 
  • Support model – Fully managed IT support with customer agreed SLAs. 

As a result of our efforts the team were able to realise the following benefits:  

  • We created a secure working environment using solutions in the Microsoft ecosystem
  • The team are fully remote and can now work from anywhere – securely 
  • We’ve implemented an enterprise class security environment – email security, vulnerability management – scanning devices, conditional access policies managing access to data and authorised apps (what they can and can’t access), Intune managing the devices
