It’s been a while since our last Meet the Team blog but we’re back and we’re talking to our Information Security Analyst, Emma Brannan. We find out more about Emma and her role here at Bridgeall.

Tell us more about your role and what it involves?

My role covers various aspects of client support, service desk and security. I was hired as part of a graduate apprenticeship which meant as my knowledge has progressed at university so has my roles within work. I have now completed my cyber security degree, so my work reflects this, and I have recently changed from a Cloud Support Engineer to an Information Security Analyst.

How long have you been working at Bridgeall?

It will be 2 years now.

What do you like most about your job?

I like learning from those in my team as there is a wide variety of knowledge within the company.

What does a typical day for you look like?

I start my day with security checks and replying/assigning client support tickets. This part of my day is usually all that is the same daily, as tickets raised by clients vary every day this determines what jobs I do daily.

What is your background?

I completed 2 years of a Maths and Accounting degree at Glasgow University where we used various statistical tools such as Matlab. I have also recently gained my cyber security degree from GCU where I used a number of tools for ethical hacking, security threat monitoring as well as coding languages such as python, linux, html. Through Bridgeall I have also gained Microsoft certificates such as the Microsoft 365 Fundamentals certification.

What is it like working at Bridgeall?

A great environment and loads of opportunities to learn and develop skills.

How have you found moving to working from home?

I have always worked remotely, so Bridgeall’s hybrid work has given me experience working in an office. I enjoy working from home as it cuts out the commute time.

Favourite project you’ve worked on?

We recently started using a new security training software for ourselves and some clients, I enjoyed this project as cyber security is a huge interest of mines and this was an opportunity for me to lead a project which related to my degree in cyber security.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

I bake cakes and treats which has turned into somewhat of a second job! I enjoy going to the gym and spin classes and I do park runs most weekendsI also love going for walks with my dog and meeting up with my friends for some cocktails.

Something on your bucket list?

I would absolutely love to visit Disneyland in Japan.
