What is Power Apps?
Power Apps is part of the Power Platform that spans Office 365, Azure, Dynamics 365, and standalone applications.
Gone are the days when building an application would take months if not years to produce. Power Apps is a quick and easy way to create custom business centric apps. It gives users a “Low Code” platform with a drag and drop interface, which can allow you to upgrade your processes within days. Power Apps comes with hundreds of templates, connectors and steps covering a wide range of use cases.
Below we give you some examples of Power Apps that can be used by any organisations that are looking to improve efficiency.
Power Apps Example 1 – Onboarding App
Onboarding in some organisations can be problematic. This can be due to poor customisation of the onboarding experience and details slipping through the cracks. With Power Apps, users can easily integrate data with other Office applications. As well as this you can centralise company resources, employee contacts and any documentation to provide an easy onboarding experience.
Power Apps Example 2 – Expense Approval App
Expense approval can be a tedious process, ask any HR department. We’ve all been there after a work trip frantically searching and submitting receipts, while managers can get bogged down with the number of staff requests. With Power Apps, users can create a mobile app for expense approval with no hassle. The employee can claim an expense by submitting a request with valid proof, and managers can accept or reject queries efficiently.
Power Apps Example 3 – A Bespoke Risk Assessment Solution
As well as standard processes, Power Apps can be tailored for your business needs. A project we worked on with one of the largest social landlords in Scotland, Link Group, required us to work on a risk assessment solution. The solution delivered cost and productivity improvements by helping to raise actions, as well as review and approve risk assessments before they were published for use.
