Microsoft Azure: A Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant
In a recent blog post, we argued that Microsoft Azure had become the world’s #1 Cloud Services Platform for corporate customers offering more cloud innovation and driving more business value than the competition.
In a second post, we argued that Azure was now an ‘indispensable digital transformation enabler’, with the flexibility provided by Azure being essential for the digital evolution of your organisation, delivering a broad range of business and IT related benefits in terms of lower costs, greater efficiency, new working practices, performance, flexibility, security and so on (see The Cloud and Digital Transformation).
The central role of Azure in digital transformation has recently been recognised by Gartner with Microsoft being positioned as a leader in their Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Magic Quadrant for the fourth consecutive year. More than 90 percent of Fortune 500 companies now use Microsoft’s cloud services.
In a recent blog post, Venkat Gattamneni, Azure Product Marketing Director, explains Microsoft’s leadership position across a broad portfolio of cloud offerings including Software as a Service (SaaS), Office 365, CRM Online and Power BI in addition to Azure Platform Services (PaaS).
“It’s the comprehensiveness of our cloud portfolio that gives customers the confidence that no matter where they are in their cloud adoption journey, they will be covered with a breadth of solutions for their problems instead of having to work with multiple vendors. We strongly believe that the momentum we’re seeing has been possible because of what Azure offers and stands for – a comprehensive and secure Cloud platform across IaaS and PaaS, unparalleled integration with Office 365, unique hybrid experience with Azure Stack, first-class support for Linux and open-source tooling, and a robust partner ecosystem”.
