Microsoft Adds to ‘Leader’ Position in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant

Microsoft Adds to ‘Leader’ Position in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant

Two additional Microsoft offerings have recently been added to the ‘Leader’ position in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant – Data Management Solutions for Analytics (DMSA) and Content Collaboration Platforms.

For the former, the company’s placement was accredited to its ‘ability to execute and completeness of vision’ with Microsoft DMSA providing customers with a solution to ‘realise the full potential of their data, revolutionising customer relationships.’

For Content Collaboration Platforms, Gartner evaluated 13 vendors based on key features and functionality such as simplicity and usability, security and data protection, analytics, user productivity and others. Microsoft’s ‘Leader’ position was achieved based on the collaboration tools built into the Office 365 platform, including SharePoint.

Gartner’s Magic Quadrant analysis series has long been regarded as a decision-makers’ touchstone for determining the quality of both strategy and delivery for market players. Organisations are chosen to be leaders based on their adaptability to changing markets and their fulfilment of use cases identified by Gartner.

At the start of 2017, Microsoft had 45 of its offerings in Gartner Magic Quadrants, twenty of these in the ‘Leader’ position.

In June, we reported that Microsoft Azure’s ‘Leader’ position for Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) had been confirmed for the fourth consecutive year. More than 90 percent of Fortune 500 companies now use Microsoft’s cloud services.

Earlier in the year, we reported that major changes had taken place in the Business Intelligence and Analytics Platform market. The shift to modern BI and analytics platforms had resulted in a significant change in market leadership positions with most previous market leaders including SAP, IBM, Oracle, MicroStrategy and SAS no longer being in the Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence and Analytics Platforms.

The only exception to this change was Microsoft with the Power BI suite of business analytic tools maintaining a strong leadership position..

Based on the above, the effective deployment of Microsoft technologies is now critical to accelerating the digital transformation of your organisation.

As a Microsoft Gold Partner, we would be delighted to discuss further.
