Promising Start to the Open Market

Promising Start to the Open Market

According to figures released by MOSL*, and reported by Utility Week, thousands of business water customers have already switched retailer in the first week of the Open Market.

In what was described as an “encouraging start” for the competitive market, an estimated 8,876 premises switched water retailer in the first week. This is in addition to the 7,500 customers pre-switching prior to market opening. Many customers have also contacted their existing water retailer to discuss services or negotiate a better deal.

There are now 20 water retailers competing for business in what is the largest competitive water market in the world.

Bridgeall are delighted to have made a significant contribution to the successful launch of the Open Market through our involvement in delivering the Central Market Operating System (CMOS), the heart of the new market.
