WICS (the Water Industry Commission for Scotland) is a non-departmental public body with statutory responsibilities. Their mission is to manage an effective regulatory framework which encourages the Scottish water industry to provide a high-quality service and value for money to customers.
The Commission required a new cloud based e-mail service to replace the existing on-premises e-mail server and migration had to happen with minimum disruption. A cloud based file sharing service was also required to mimic the existing network shares in use and access permissions and controls were required to ensure secure access was maintained.
Bridgeall’s proposal was to implement Office 365 for email and and migrate all file content from the on-premise shared drives into SharePoint Online in a structured manner. Consequently all versions of Office applications were upgraded and compliance ensured with Microsoft licensing.
Following the initial work we designed and implemented additional governance within SharePoint to address retention policies and records management.
